general rules.
- As we all know, playing your own character is always best, so try not to play anyone else’s for them. This also includes thing such as ‘Don’t power-play,’ and ‘Don’t god-mode,’ as you may or may not have picked up in the process.
- Dogs are like human beings. They are average—there are no perfect humans in the human world, thus there are no perfect, untouchable, god-like and otherwise immortal dogs in the dog world.
- There is a limit of two (2) characters per account, for now, at least. If you want any more characters and you don’t want to have to sign up for another account, ask a staff member for permission.
- Please bear in mind that Città del Cane is a game. This means that grudges formed whilst you’re in-character should not be carried into the out of character boards, and vice versa. A dog that hates your character doesn’t necessarily mean the player hates you (or your character, for that matter).
- Città del Cane is a realistic role play set in Rome, Italy. This means no wings, no elements, no odd coloured coats or eyes, no jewellery (apart from collars, and you should have a good explanation for that in your history)—you get the drift, nothing that isn’t realistic. If you’re unsure about something, ask a member of staff.
- This is a dog role play. I don’t want to suddenly see cats prancing around the place, or wolves. Città del Cane is for dogs and dogs only. Breed-wise, I’ll accept wolfhounds or wolf-dogs (Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog, for example), but I don’t want any wolf crosses or any ‘purebred wolves,’ running around.
- If you have issues with someone, take it to your messages. Harassment of any kind—racial, sexual, etcetera—will not be tolerated; if a member does this to you, take screenshots and send them to a staff member. Otherwise, if the issues take over the boards, you’ll both be warned (and possibly banned for a set number of days until you calm down).
other rules.
- Dogs can breed at the age of two—bitches must wait until the age of three, and long breeding is not allowed on the boards. If you wish to breed graphically, take it to your messages, but be sure to post on the ‘Breeding’ section of the Updates board about your characters mating.
- Litters can be conceived at any time during the year. To conceive a litter, both you and your character’s mate (or the dog that bred with your character) must fill out the form in the ‘Breeding’ section of the Updates form and wait for a staff member to give you the statistics of your litter.
- Litter stats are decided at random. Don’t ask or beg for a certain gender or number of puppies – all requests will be ignored.
- The hierarchy of each pack differs from pack to pack, as do the rules of each pack. If you don’t want your dog to join a pack then they can be a loner, although they’re free to join any pack at any time during their lives.
- Dogs can and will die. We have a year system in place (although it has yet to be posted), and you will be expected to age your characters according to the system. If you don’t, we’ll do it for you.
- Random events—both good and bad—will occur, as the name says, at random. It could be a bad weather forecast that kills a character, or a character gets raped by another character—it all depends. However, the player(s) of the character(s) that will be involved in a random event will be contacted beforehand, so never fear. (:
- Force breeding is allowed, and it can be done with or without the consent of the other dog’s player. However, whether or not a litter is conceived is up to the staff.
- Dogs can fight for anything—food, mates, a rank or territory. Fighting can take place anywhere, and both dogs will get two chances at attacking their opponent and two chances at defending themselves. A member of staff will judge the fights depending on the quality of the posts and the fighting in general, and after four posts (from each dog), the winner of the fight will be decided.
- Treat each other with respect (out of character, at least) and enjoy yourselves. (: If you have any questions, feel free to contact a staff member and they’ll do their best to answer them.
